A private funeral service for Mr Basil Joseph Heslop will be held <strong> FRIDAY (Aug 7<sup>th</sup>, 2020)</strong> at 1.30pm, followed by a private burial.

Dear Carmel and family,.
I was shocked to read of Basil's passing in late 2020. One of my mates caught up with him down South, and when Echuca was mentioned, Bas asked him if he knew a former freind of years ago named Alan Green, I believe they had a great discussion. Bas was apparently living in Bendigo at the time.
I am to go to Bendigo for treatment soon and I was going to catch up with him, but sadly when I was looking to Google for a contact of some sort I came across his notice of passing.
Bas and Mick Chirgwin ( who has also recently passed away ) were always in my thoughts and I am so disappointed that we never caught up from our school days. We were such good mates those days and your Mum was so kind to my family. Even though Bas has gone I will never forget his mateship towards me. If you remember I had just came to Australia from England, Bas treated me so well and made me so welcome, and soon made me a little Aussie.

To Lynnie and family, our hearts are broken too. Baz was such a great character in our group of friends always bringing us back into line when (often) we got too noisey when St Kilda was on the TV and doing well, and we were'nt paying attention. We will never forget Baz our get togethers will never quite be the same. Much love from the Ocean Grove crew
