To my beautiful Jennifer Ann, Dane and Mitch, Carra, Kiera, Grace, Minnie and Theo and Martha.
My love and thoughts go to you all as you navigate this incredibly difficult chapter.
It was an incredibly amazing send off to our gorgeous Mick.
I'm forever grateful for our paths crossing all those years ago via the introduction of Jen and me at The Vue Grand, and I couldn't wish for a better Victorian family.
Mick was a humble man, who loved his surf, his footy, his time at the block, his dogs, his career, but more than anything his family, all of you.
I so wish I could have there in person, but know that I was watching and sending my love to you all from afar. I'm grateful for that.
Sweetest of dreams Michael and arohanui as you catch your final wave🙏
Dani, Riki, Jake, Taine, Sienna and Kale 💙

I didn't know you for very long, Mick. However, I know you were a great person.
You helped my Dad towards the end of his life, for which I was genuinely grateful.
I got to know you a little better through your funeral service, which uplifted me to learn about the life you lived at the same time as saddening me to see that you left the world too soon.
Rest in peace Mick.June 10, 2022 11:57 am

We are deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of Michael. Although we have not crossed paths since we were children, Wolfgang and I have fond memories of the Hoyer family who migrated to Australia in the early 50s from Germany and befriended my parents on the boat over. It was because of the Hoyer family that we also settled in Watsons Rd Newcomb and Marta became my Godmother. My mother and Marta recently reconnected in the years before mum passed away in 2020. Both Michael and Edward are seared into our memories as childhood friends and his sudden passing is certainly difficult to comprehend. Our deepest sympathies to the entire family. Monica Smith (née Fileborn) and Wolfgang Fileborn.
