Martin was my school friend when he was at the Boys School in Percival Street Kanturk Co. Cork while I went down the road to the Convent school. We both played in Kilroe on the hill above Kanturk as children. My mother Catherine was best of friends with his mother always known as Mrs Keating to us children. I will always look back fondly at the times we shared in Kilroe in the 1930s and 1940s. Regrettably we only met a couple of times in Melbourne. I was in a hospital stay at the time and sadly missed the funeral. I will remember those times with happiest of memories. My deepest best regards to the Keating family.

Our Uncle Martin - an extraordinary man and the time I spent with him has always stayed with. A man whom I admire - may he rest in peace.

These are the words that befell my ears whilst
growing up, meeting relatives, and talking to anybody that knew are (uncle ) Mr Martin Keating. R.I.P. 8
