To Mai, Annette , Kathleen , Kevin & Bryan . Please accept my deepest sympathy to all of you on the death of my first cousin John . Mai I met you many years ago when I drove John home from the Curragh . He used to drop into my Mam & Dad
Matt & Mary Whelan in Kildare . Mammy was his God Mother (Mary Murphy from Russelstown,Athy).
He died on her Birthday 27 Jan . Over the last few years we had got in touch via Facebook and exchanged family photos and chatted. Before he died he sent me a photo of the twins . I will miss him and hearing all about you all . If any of you come to Ireland you will be very welcome in my home . I still live in Kildare . My Email address will be with the funeral undertakers . I’m hoping to watch the funeral live-streamed . Marie will probably be here with me .
I’ll be thinking of you all on 5th Feb. John is the first of the Murphy cousins to leave us . You are in my thoughts and prayers .

Hi John/JJ/Jock
We started school together in 1949 & stayed together for 7 years.
At about 10 we got mixers. I a messenger boy for a butcher and you caddying.
Then we would lose our hard earned pennies playing poker by the pump on the green.
Life was tough but good to us Jock.
Sleep easy auld pal.
