My Dear Uncle ‘Pockets’,
So thankful we got a chance to catch up while we were in Bendigo. I wish we didn’t leave it as long as we did between catch ups. It was so special watching you give my sons (Pattie’s first) Lollies like you used to me. My children and I will treasure the CD you gave us. Sending my love to Aunty Ev and family. The funeral was an a beautiful send off to an amazing man. All my love ❤️

Poppy,
You are the toughest and most resilient person I have ever known. Thank you for everything you did for our family. You are one hell of a fighter and you will be missed by all. I'm glad you have finally found some rest and comfort. We will love you always!

Dear Poppy,
We couldn't have asked for a better grandfather, or for our Mother to have a better Father. One who was tough, kind and fair, more importantly, one we all could turn to for support in times of trouble or need - be it Father, Grandfather, friend, foe or stranger, providing a helping hand or the precise piece of advice was second nature to you.
Beyond your kindness and perhaps more special was celebrating the great times and sharing yarns from our journeys together or when we would re-kindle from our travels afar. Learning about Speedways, the outback, country music, rabbit-hunting or the best time to water a garden during summer whilst speaking bird-language to the local wildlife, you were always a ‘hoot’.
You’ve probably already shouted Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard & Waylon Jennings a jack or two up there, actually ‘shout’ is the wrong word, more of, buttering them up to get them to join your band…. As YOUR backing band of course whilst you still shine in the limelight. Enjoy it Pop, we’ll be singing with you soon. I’ll bring the zooper doopers & ginger beer.
We are all already Sitting back, relaxing and listening to a "Little Bit More Country" of yours each and every day.
God Bless
